Letting Yourself Rest to Receive More with Joanna Heyse

Episode 28 - On this episode of The Awakened Feminine, we connect with Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, Registered Naturopathic Therapist and the Founder of Regenerative Living, Joanna Heyse who specialises in helping people overcome their digestive ailments such as IBS naturally.

Before becoming an entrepreneur, Joanna was working as a relief aid. After 11 years travelling across Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Eastern Europe in war-torn zones, she was completely burnt-out, lost a part of her in every place and her naive dream to save the world came apart. When she decided to quit, she didn’t know what life would bring her as it meant returning to a “normal” life and normal is a strange concept after the life she had experienced. One thing was for sure, deep inside, she could not let go of the desire to make a difference. Something in her just knew she still had to be of service.

Joanna’s health journey is one of debilitating pain and stress and she was diagnosed with IBS-C in 2011. After numerous hospital appointments in Sri Lanka and Belgium and living with bloating, painful spasms, brain fog, memory loss, acne, and fatigue which caused anxiety, Joanna had to undergo several surgeries, change her diet countless times and change her habits. Nothing worked, or at least not in the long run and it got to a point where she avoided social events, as she was afraid of the symptoms she could get so she hid at home with a hot water bottle on her bloated belly. The journey to remission was long but Joanna got there and now she can finally say her IBS-C is under control and at the same time, everything in her life also changed for the better!
